I have been using Nordic Naturals Arctic Cod Liver Oil for a while now, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. This product is not only effective but also incredibly high quality. Each soft gel contains 750mg of Omega-3 derived from cod liver oil, providing a potent dose of EPA and DHA that supports overall health and well-being.One of the standout features of this product is the delicious lemon flavour. Unlike other fish oil supplements that can have a strong fishy taste, Nordic Naturals has managed to create a refreshing lemon flavour that makes taking the soft gels a pleasant experience. The absence of any fishy aftertaste is a huge plus for me and definitely sets this product apart from others on the market.I also like the fact that Nordic Naturals Arctic Cod Liver Oil is soy-free, gluten-free, and non-GMO. There’s nothing wrong with these capsules. They didn’t give me any fishy aftertaste or «repeat», and I am sure they’re decent quality.However you need to take 3 of the (very large) capsules a day to get the recommended dose, which only gives you 750mg of Omega 3 – including 240mg of of EPA and 360mg of DHA – which is reasonable, but not especially strong for three big capsules which cost a lot of money. I’ve seen more potent supplements for similar or less money.They claim to be independently tested for purity, but I don’t see any link to results or any kind of certification. In the same vein, they claim to use sustainably caught fish but I can’t see any kind of independent certification for that, which again you often see on rival brands, so you’ve really only got their word for it. Again, I’ve seen rival supplements for a similar price or less or make the same claims but have independent certification to support it.So these seem about average, but at a well above average price – £49.69 at the time of writing, which is 83p per daily dose of 3 capsules.

These Nordic Naturals cod liver oil based Omega 3 capsules require a daily dose of 3 capsules to provide a recommended amount of EPA and DHA, the two important fatty acids that Omega 3 contains. It should be said that the same dose, or higher, can be achieved with other Omega 3 products from taking 2 of their capsules and this might be worth taking into account when calculating the daily cost or if you find swallowing soft gel capsules difficult or unpleasant. The capsules are a similar size to most Omega 3 capsules that I have taken in the pastThe capsules also provide vitamins A and D which are naturally occurring in cod liver oil. Neither of these provide the daily recommended dose but I guess will supplement other sources of these vitaminsThese capsules are not cheap at the current price of £49.99 for a 60 day supply, so what makes them different to others? Well, they are lemon flavoured for one. At first I was not sure what the advantage of this might be as I tend to swallow capsules with a glass of water, but at least one is not hit by the fishy smell that my current capsules have when taking the lid off the container. The packaging also suggests ‘that there is no fishy aftertaste’ which in my case (so far!) is true and for me is a significant advantage.The capsule packaging also points out other features such as that sustainable wild caught fish are used, and that they are gluten, soy, dairy and artificial colouring and flavouring free. Note though that like many soft gel capsules they contain gelatin, so are not suitable for strict pescatarians.All in all, and taking the price into account I think that 4 stars is a fair rating for this product
