This is one of a handful of reference guides pertaining to over the counter medications. In addition, it includes coverage of dietary supplements and herbal remedies. It is modelled after the standard PDR for prescription medications and has the same publisher. It is important to be aware that the products reviewed are not subjected to independent review; they represent what the manufacturer says about the product. It is the only reference source that compiles information on this diverse collection of medications, supplements and herbals in a single volume.

My pharmacist recommended that I buy this to make sure that my two medications did not conflict with all of the many supplements and vitamins I take. It is a fairly easy reference, but does not include everything that I take. It has changed the order in which I take meds though…like not taking blood pressure pills close to my calcium/magnesium supplement.

Be sure to read the introductory section that gives directions on how to use this book. Once you’ve done that, you be able to access all the information there is in this book — and that’s quite a bit. I’m glad I bought it, and will always keep it handy.
